Hello everyone welcome back to my blog today we are talking about our faces and their expressions. I'm gonna have to say that facial expressions are universal along with Mr. Charles Darwin. Studies have shown that all facial expressions are shared even with animals. It's pretty obvious if you think about it if you feel sad your expression might look like a whimpering dog. With other countries it's pretty much the same story when it comes to facial expressions if you are stressed out you share the same expression of a tourist missing their flight. Their are other things like your hands and the way you move the fingers they might mean nothing to us but to others that's a different story.
There are many ways to make this project but i'm gonna tell you how we or I made it. First take a picture whether it be on a camera or just taking a symmetrical face from the internet. Next you would need to go into PhotoShop and with the line tool you would divide your picture in half (so it's symmetrical and outline your features of your face.(this includes your eyes, eyebrows, hair/facial hair, lips, and ear. After you are done outlining you would then make triangles in each feature using different triangles for different colors/parts of your features. Then you would make a copy of your picture first and then use the polygonal lasso tool to select/outline each triangle And go filter, blur, average to make each triangle have a color. After you are completely done selecting each triangle and adding/applying the affect you would then finally flip the half of the face you worked on horizontally to finish it off.
I would have to say that my poly-1 was way better than my poly-2 for many different reasons. One of the most obvious reasons is that my poly-2 is not finished like my first one, and it looks rushed. The poly-1 I finished because it was, to me way easier than the poly-2, it did take more steps but it was easier and looked cool. I would also say that they are both equal in how much steps are necessary but I still like my poly-1 way better. I think the poly-2 is better if you wan't to get more creative with your low poly image. Poly-1 did take a lot of steps to, especially the fact that it took us a week to outline our faces or, at least that's how long it took for me. I would rather do the poly-1 than my poly-2 though, if you wan't to make a low poly image I suggest the one at the top, the poly-1.
